STEER 18th Journal Club

We would like to invite you to join our next STEER journal club, titled:

Association of Bariatric Surgery with Major Adverse Liver and Cardiovascular Outcomes in Patients With Biopsy-Proven Nonalcoholic Steatohepatitis.

This will be presented by Andrei Moscalu – EOE Trainee and Post Doctoral Fellow at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and his and Post Doctoral Fellow colleague Cullen Roberts MD

Andrei Moscalu is an ST6 registrar in the EOE Deanery. He is currently working as a postdoctoral research fellow at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in the US. His work centers around understanding the molecular mechanism that underpin the metabolic changes after bariatric surgery and on the effect of microbiome on the metabolic effects following bariatric surgery.

Cullen Roberts is also a post doctoral research fellow, working alongside Andrei at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. His works also focuses on the effects of bariatric surgery on the microbiome, oncogenesis, tumor growth, and tumor response to treatment

We are excited to hear from these 2 experts and hope that you will also be able to join us and give them a STEER welcome too!

Congratulations to our new STEER Foundation Year Representative

Dr Jeremy Wong!

Jeremy is currently an FY3 doctor working at West Suffolkd Hospital. He has been the STEER local hospital representative over the past year and is currently working on a new STEER project which will be launching soon. He graduated from the University of Cambridge in 2019 and is keen to pursue a career in ENT Surgery. We are looking forward to having him join our team.
