Dragons' Den for East of England General Surgery trainees

This FREE event is a fantastic opportunity to present traineeled
research proposals. Proposals will be pitched to a panel of
experts (consultant surgeons, NIHR representatives and
academic trainees) in a “Dragons’ Den” style pitch.
Winning proposals will be used as regional collaborative
projects, supported by the East of England trainee research
collaborative (STEER) and the NIHR.

This event will be held on a mandatory deanery teaching day and will follow a morning half-day of invaluable lectures on FRCS preparation with tips and tricks to passing from a trainee perspective. Trainees should be able to claim study leave for this teaching day. 

Lunch will be provided.

  • Proposal must be submitted to by 22 December 2019
  • Proposals must not be longer than 500 words
  • They should detail background, aims/objectives, methodology (including timeline) and note impact on clinical care for patients
  • The projects to be presented to the “Dragons” will be announced on Friday 3 January 2020
  • Winning projects will receive a prize certificate, other presenters will receive proof of oral presentation.
