Our next STEER Journal Club – Wednesday 15th December 2021 at 7pm
You are warmly invited to attend our next STEER journal club which will be presented by Garima Govind, Mohammad Fallaha and Sharlini Sathananthan.
The topic will be the outcomes of immediate vs delayed breast reconstruction in women undergoing mastectomy for breast cancer.
We look forward to seeing you there!
Journal Club Times – A Poll for Participants
We would like to ensure that everyone can attend our journal clubs live at a convenient time to both themselves and the presenters and have endeavoured to vary times in the past, with lunchtime, early evening and later sessions.
We do understand that both work commitments and out of work commitments can interfere with our individual availability and attendance at different times does vary.
We would be grateful if you could complete this short poll where you can select as many times as convenient / preferred for future journal clubs or suggest a time.
We will feedback on the poll results in due course and will continue to try and vary the times, according to presenter availability and monitor attendance in the coming months.
We are looking for a new foundation doctor representative to join the STEER Executive!
We are recruiting new Local Hospital STEER Representatives to work alongside our committee in 2022! See the details below to apply:
We would like to thank our Local Hospital STEER representatives over the past year for the help and support that they have provided to the committee and working alongside our regional project coordinators.
The STEER Committee recognised that many people will have rotated trusts in August and October and in order to have local representatives in each hospital in the region, we are re-advertising the posts.
If you are a current Local Hospital STEER representative and have remained in post or relocated, you are eligible to reapply for the post. However, the successful applicant will be decided based on an anonymised review of the new bios in this round of applications.
Please apply if you are a current East of England FY, CST, SHO or Spr (training and non-training doctors welcome).
Congratulations to Mr Medhat Aker and all our STEER collaborators for your hard work designing the study collecting the data and writing our most recent STEER publication!
Our latest STEER Paper, titled: Management of anastomotic leaks after elective colorectal resections: The East of England experience. A retrospective cohort has been published in the International Journal of Surgery in December 2021. You can find the link to the paper here: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/34752951/
Finally, from all the STEER Committee, we wish you a Happy Christmas and hope that you will continue to follow us on twitter, sign up for our newsletter and support the STEER Collaborative in the new year!
